In the third quarter of 2024, the top medical apps on the Android platform in Africa showed varied performance trends, reflecting their respective popularity and user engagement levels. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, reveals interesting patterns for each app, with more detailed insights available on the platform.

My NHIF demonstrated a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, peaking in the first week of July at about 14.3K downloads. However, there was a gradual decline towards the end of September, with downloads dropping to 7.7K. Active users experienced a slight decrease from approximately 67.9K in early July to 52.7K by the end of the quarter.

Elezaby pharmacy saw a decline in weekly downloads from 10.5K at the start of July to around 4.2K in mid-September, before recovering to 6.8K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 20.7K and 24.8K throughout the period.

Dr. Blood Pressure: BP Tracker experienced a notable increase in downloads, starting from 11.5K in early July and reaching 11.3K by late September. The app’s active users showed a positive trend, increasing from 27.9K to 37.1K over the quarter, indicating a growing user base.

Skeleton | 3D Anatomy witnessed a surge in downloads mid-quarter, with a peak of 22.6K in the week of August 19. However, downloads decreased significantly to 1.8K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 38.6K and then declining to 7.6K.

Lastly, Netcare maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, with a slight increase from 5.3K in early July to 6.7K by the end of September. Unfortunately, data on active users for Netcare was not available.
